Subjectively True is the repository of personal and professional projects by Ryan Malloy, a documentary filmmaker in Seattle, WA.

He’s particularly drawn to relationships between people and their environments and how they shape one another. Maybe this interest stems from his years of working as an urban planner. Or maybe it’s just because stories of people engaging with the world around them in unexpected ways are inherently fascinating.

Ryan has worked in both production and post-production roles on a wide variety of documentary and client projects. His short documentary films have screened in festivals around the world and have won several awards. Ryan is a graduate of Wesleyan University and holds a master’s degree in urban planning from the University of Michigan and an M.F.A. in Documentary Film and Video from Stanford University.
